En un article del passat mes de novembre, us vam informar que estàvem enllestint un projecte que estaríem segurs que us agradaria. Des de fa uns dies, us podem anunciar que hem creat una col·lecció de llibres digitalitzats de la Biblioteca MMB a la web Internet Archive.
Si no coneixeu Internet Archive, us en fem cinc cèntims. És una biblioteca digital gestionada per una entitat de San Francisco, sense ànim de lucre , que proporciona emmagatzematge i lliure accés a col·leccions de tot tipus de materials digitalitzats, com per exemple, pàgines web, música, vídeos, imatges i gairebé tres milions de llibres digitalitzats en domini públic. Està considerat com un dels grans projectes mundials de digitalització de llibres.
Per començar la nostra "biblioteca digital" hem seleccionat documents de no gaires pàgines que estiguessin lliures de drets d'autor i que considerem que són interessants per als nostres usuaris. També hem tingut en compte que una altra biblioteca no els hagi digitalitzat i posat en accés obert per tal de no duplicar despeses ni tasques. I clar, de tema marítim.

Podeu visualitzar i descarregar els documents en un munt de formats i també ofereix la possibilitat d'escoltar el text, aquest darrer servei funciona en llibres en anglès, en els altres idiomes de moment sona molt estrany. Aquesta col·lecció tot just comença, la intenció és enriquir-la dia a dia. I que vosaltres tingueu ben a prop, al vostre abast, a casa vostra, una part de la Biblioteca del Museu Marítim de Barcelona.
